Welcome to S.H.A.K.E. Dance School! – 28 years of putting the Dance in your pants!
S.H.A.K.E. Dance School started in 1998 in New Farm with 2 jazz classes and 9 students. It began as a part-time bit of fun for the principal Nikki McIntyre and quickly expanded into a great big dynamic school filled with enthusiastic and talented students. We now teach 7 different genres of dance, compete in eisteddfods and sit 200 exams each year. S.H.A.K.E dancers regularly perform at school fetes and community events and perform at the end of year concert spectacular!
Students have furthered their education with Queensland Ballet, QUT Fine Arts, ED5, Brent Street, WAPA and our alumni perform in shows all over the world. We are the first and only Queensland studio to have 2 students pass the elite level of ballet (Premier Danseur) with Comdance.
S.H.A.K.E. is proud to have a welcoming atmosphere, and to produce dancers with positive attitudes, great work ethics and kind hearts.
